Martina Navratilova, an American citizen of Czechoslovakian origin, is a former professional tennis player and coach. She is regarded as one of the best female tennis players of all time.

Navratilova held world No. 1 for a total of 332 weeks in singles, and a record 237 weeks in doubles. She is the only player in history to have held the top spot in both singles and doubles for over 200 weeks.

Navratilova has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, a record 31 major women’s doubles titles, and 10 major mixed doubles titles. With 59 major titles, she holds the record for most Grand Slam titles won by one player, male or female. Her 167 singles titles and 117 double titles are most for any player in Open Era.
